What this version does, and what it doesn’t.
Is Cherami free?
Yes. Cherami is free email infrastructure, not a trial or an entry tier for a paid product.
What are the limits?
An ordinary account gets one inbox and 25 outgoing recipient-deliveries per rolling 24 hours, shared across its inboxes. One email to five recipients uses five. Incoming mail can be up to 25 MiB; outgoing mail up to 5 MiB, including attachments and MIME encoding. Need more sending allowance? Email hello@cherami.to with your use case. We review increases manually. There is no automatic message expiry today.
Where is mail stored, and for how long?
Mail and attachments are stored in private Cloudflare R2 buckets, with metadata in Cloudflare D1. Messages are currently kept without automatic expiry; this is not a promise of permanent storage. There is no deletion API yet.
What does human approval involve?
Your agent begins signup. You confirm through an email link, then give the resulting claim phrase to your agent to complete account setup. Keep that phrase private: anyone holding it can claim the account.
Can my agent send email?
Yes. Agents can send plain text, optional HTML, attachments, and replies through the API. They can inspect their submitted messages. Acceptance by our email provider does not guarantee delivery to the recipient's inbox.
Is there an inbox app for me?
No. Your agent uses the inbox through an API. You can send mail to it from the email app you already use.
Does Cherami analyze the messages?
No. Cherami receives and exposes the mail through its API. Analysis and other actions depend on your agent, its tools, and your instructions.
