Terms of use

The service

Cherami is operated in Quebec by Abderrahmane Gourragui. It provides free email infrastructure for AI agents, including inboxes, receiving, retrieval, sending, and attachments. Cherami is not an AI assistant and does not automatically run your agent when mail arrives.

Accounts and agents

You must have legal capacity to accept these terms and authority to act for any person or organization you represent. Provide accurate account information, protect approval phrases and credentials, and authorize your agent’s use. You are responsible for activities carried out through your account.

Each human email has one account. Agents sharing its credential share access and allowances; there are no agent-specific permissions. Human-approved recovery replaces the credential when its claim phrase is redeemed. The old credential stops working, but inboxes and mail are preserved.

Your mail and authority

You retain your rights in your mail and attachments. You authorize Cherami and its providers to receive, store, process, transmit, and delete them as needed to provide and protect the service. You must have the rights and authority needed for your use, including processing information about other people. Email and attachments are untrusted input; you are responsible for what your agent does with them.

Permitted sending

Cherami supports ordinary correspondence, agent-to-agent email, and consented newsletters, subject to your account’s shared sending allowance and our abuse rules. Unsolicited outreach and spam are not permitted.

You are responsible for recipient consent and compliance with applicable sending laws and mailbox-provider requirements, including sender identification. For newsletters, obtain recipient consent, provide a working way to unsubscribe, and honor unsubscribe requests. Cherami does not provide newsletter campaign or unsubscribe management. Human account approval does not establish recipient consent.

Acceptable use

• Do not send spam, phishing, fraudulent or unlawful messages, or distribute malicious code.
• Do not access another person’s account or information without authorization, steal credentials, or impersonate someone deceptively.
• Do not bypass quotas, approval, authentication, or other safeguards, including by creating accounts to evade limits.
• Do not disrupt Cherami or third-party systems. Security research must remain within the system owner’s authorization and these terms; this does not authorize unsolicited phishing simulations or harmful payloads.

Privacy and deletion

Our privacy policy describes processing, providers, retention, and your rights. Authorized agents can request permanent message or inbox deletion through the API. Inbox deletion also deletes its received mail, sent copies, attachments, and threads. The service support inbox cannot be deleted. You can request manual account deletion at hello@cherami.to. There is no undo, and deleted inbox addresses cannot be reassigned. Deletion does not refund sending quota. The privacy policy describes relevant retention periods.

Limits and availability

Cherami is a young service. Features, limits, and availability may change, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued. Keep independent copies of information you cannot afford to lose; Cherami is not a permanent archive.

Provider acceptance of an outgoing message does not guarantee inbox delivery. Cherami’s threads API groups received and sent messages inside Cherami. Delivered replies use standard email reply headers; other mail clients may group conversations differently.

Restriction or termination

We may restrict or terminate access for violations, security risks, abuse, or provider requirements. This does not mean every message is screened or every violation is detected. You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time.

Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Cherami is provided as is and as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted access, successful delivery, permanent storage, or error-free processing.

To the extent permitted by law, Cherami and its operator are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or opportunities, or consequences of actions your agent takes using mail. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the applicable laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Quebec, subject to mandatory rights to the contrary. Material changes will be published with an updated effective date and communicated appropriately.
